Tyler and his best friends Matt and Zach recently sought out looking to hit some trails and drink some brews. They decide on the Catawba Falls loop, just east of town. The trail leads along the river and ends with a cascading moss-covered waterfall. They hike a little further, to Upper Catawba Falls, for the clear swimming pool at the base of the waterfall. After splashing in the water and munching on some snacks, they head back down the trail and drive back to their river view cabin, overlooking the French Broad River.
After some quick research, Tyler and his friends head out to Sierra Nevada Brewery for a light lunch and a tour of the brewing operation. They pile back into the car and head to the South Slope for an evening of live music and a variety of breweries. They hit up Burial Beer Co. for the eclectically named imperial stouts and wild ales. Afterward, they continue on to Wicked Weed for a sour or two. They decide on one more stop before hitting the hay, Urban Orchard Cider Co., to round out the experience. Feeling content with the fullness of their day, they head back to the cabin for a dip in the private hot tub before heading to bed.
